A Promise: Fulfilled Yet Broken(Last Part)

Part-4( Last Part)

Moksh was feeling dejected. He went back to his home and locked himself. He was lying on his bed and his eyes were fighting with tears. His heart was unable to absorb what Kriya did to him. Numerous questions occupied his mind but none has got any answer.

He was struggling to accept the reality. He took out his cell and looked at its wallpaper. It was Kriya’s beautiful picture there with a fascinating smile on her face. “Why did you do this to me?” He said looking at her picture. But there was no answer. Tears started flowing from his eyes. He couldn’t look at her picture for a long time as it reminded him of their love. He switched off his cell and kept it inside his pocket. But his mind was still wandering in thoughts of Kriya.  He didn’t realize when sleep took over him and he went into deep slumber.

Moksh’s room
8:30 A.M.

Moksh was in deep sleep when his bedside alarm clock started roaring aloud.  He partially opened his eyes and put the alarm off. He looked at the time, it was 8:30. He was puzzled why Kriya didn’t wake him up today. It never happened before. Then he remembered about last night. He was still thinking it was just a nightmare. Suddenly he remembered his cellphone is switched off and maybe Kriya will be trying to call him. He slid his hand in his pocket and took out his cellphone. As he took it out a ring also slipped out along with it on his bed. He looked at the ring. It was the same Tanishq Platinum band he had gifted to Kriya on their first anniversary. He was baffled to see it.

“How this band came into my pocket?” He thought but didn’t get any clue.

He thought to ask Kriya about it and switched on his cell. His cell was flooded with so many notifications on Whatsapp but he didn’t care to see any of them. All he wanted is to talk to Kriya and ask her about the ring. He dialed her number but it was switched off. He thought to call her back in sometime and get ready for office first.

Before he could move out of his bed his cellphone buzzed. He looked t the cell, it was his best friend Karan. He picked up the call.

“Hey dude...wassup?” He asked him casually.

“Where are you Moksh?” Karan asked in a worried tone.

“Home… why? What happened?” He asked confused.

“Look at today’s newspaper quickly.” Karan said.

“What’s there?” He wasn’t getting what’s going on.

“See yourself.”  Karan shortly replied.

"Okay let me see it…” He said while opening the door of his room and going to the drawing room where newspaper was lying on the centre table.

He took the newspaper and the headline shocked him. It read, “A major car accident on Kanpur-Delhi highway, hit and run case, all three DEAD!” A chill ran down his spine. His eyes widened with fear. His hands began to tremble. He quickly went through the whole news with horrified eyes which read an over speed truck hit a car on Kanpur- Lucknow highway. According to sources there were three people inside the car, Mr. Vishal agarwal along with his wife Mrs. Asmita Agarwal and their 23 years old daughter Kriya. The accident took place around 5 P.M. when the family was going to attend some wedding in Jaipur. An over speed truck hit the car and vanished from the spot quickly.  The crash was so strong that all three people sitting inside died on the spot. Due to extreme fog even CCTV’s are unable to provide any clue about the accident.

Moksh felt the blood gushing out of his blood vessels. He looked at the picture on the page. He immediately recognized the pictures of the dead bodies. Pain appeared in his eyes. Newspaper fell from his hands and he felt as if earth was shaken beneath his feet.

"How could this be possible?" He questioned himself. He was confused. If the accident took place around 5 P.M., how Kriya came at 6 P.M.? He was completely perplexed. Then he recalled kriya’s words, whatever she had said last night.

“I love you Moksh. How could I break my promise? You’re my ultimate destination.”

“Promise me you’ll always take care of yourself and you’ll never be sad for any reason.”

“I have to go Moksh…My parents are waiting for me.”

“I have to go Moksh, your love isn’t letting me go.”

Moksh was broken. He knew the news is cent percent true to the bit but his heart was unable to accept the harsh reality. His heart felt a piercing pain. He closed his eyes and fell on the floor. Kriya’s smiling face flashed in front of him. Now he knew how much Kriya loved him. It was her soul which came to fulfill her promise and the ring was evidence of her presence.

He screamed, “Come back Kriya. Please come back…I can’t live without you.”

Tears overflowed his eyes. He cursed himself why did he let her go last night. Why didn’t he ran and hugged her tightly?  He was crying profusely on the floor. Kriya was gone from his life...for forever. He remembered her words once again “One day I will go away forever then you'll miss me..."

“Kriya you fulfilled the promise to meet me on our anniversary but you broke the promise of staying with me forever.” He murmured and burst into tears once again.

Forever in love♥

After two weeks of cold war. Vidaan decided to break the ice. He dialed a well known number on his iPhone. A beautiful face flashed on his mobile screen.  The face he loved more than his life. His reason to live. He waited for the call to be received. "Hello." "Hey love. " "Why did you call me?" "I want to meet you. We need to talk." "No. There is nothing left to talk. " "Naina for the sake of our love please don't say no." After a pause "Okay " "I'll wait for you at the same place." "I'll be there by 7 p.m." "Thank you." Call was disconnected without any further reply. Vidaan glanced at watch. It struck 2:00 pm. "Still 5 hours in hand" he said to himself.  He called his secretary and instructed her to cancel all his meetings for the day. He immediately left office in his favorite SUV. He put on the music and it played "Dil ibadat kar

A Star Studded Night

Sitting under the star studded sky with you This feeling is so very special and new If I were a poet I would've described How it feels when you sit by my side ... Looking into my eyes when you say my name Hold my hand in yours, our eyes play game As your lips trace the path to my lips I can't control, the beat of my heart skips ... When your fingers wander aimlessly on my skin I give in to my senses, I don't care if it is a sin As the night advances to its glory The love marks on my skin tell a new story... The story tells about  the conquest of love and lust How the darkness take over and emotions burst How the two souls mingle into one How both struggle to win and loses none... The end of battle is so enthralling and lovely Its painful and pleasurable simultaneously I wish the night to last forever The moments are precious like a treasure... #KANYA

You Are Not Alone...

You’re Not Alone "The Castle"  written in big italic golden letters on the black graphite nameplate. How beautiful it looks. After so many prolonged discussions we’d decided this name for our newly built bungalow, two years back, before getting married. The memories of the day are still fresh when I came here after marriage. It was lavishly adorned with colorful flowers, illuminated with countless lights. Two years have bygone. It still looks marvelous. I close my eyes. Some images appear.  I’m wearing a red saree with matching golden blouse. My wrists are filled with red bangles. Intricate heena design is applied on my palms till my forearm. There are silver anklets in my legs. The tinkling sounds of bangles and my laughter are adding melody in the air. I’m running down the white marble stairs. He is running after me to catch me. He is just a few steps away. I turn back and tease him by waving his childhood pic, in which he is wearing a pink frock and hat. He
