'यत्र  नार्यस्तु पूज्यते  रमन्ते तत्र देवता !' हमारे पौराणिक ग्रन्थों में लिखा है जहाँ नारी का सम्मान होता है, वहाँ देवता निवास करते हैं | वर्तमान में यह कथन कितना सार्थक है हम सभी जानते हैं| एक ओर नवरात्रों में नारी के माँ दुर्गा स्वरूप की पूजा होती है वहीं दूसरी ओर उसके सम्मान का हनन होता है| कहीं दहेज के लिए किसी अबला की बलि चढ़ा दी जाती है तो कहीं किसी नाबालिग के साथ दुष्कर्म हुआ ऐसी अनगिनत खबरों से हम रोज रूबरू होते हैं, किन्तु क्या इन खबरों का हम पर कोइ असर होता है? शायद नहीं| हाँ कुछ पलों के लिए मन विचलित होता है और गुस्सा भी आता है किन्तु कुछ समय बाद फिर वही उदासीनता की स्थिति| इस व्यस्त जीवन की भागदौड़ नें हमें मानवीय भावनाओं के प्रति उदासीन कर दिया है| घरेलु हिंसा, दुष्कर्म, दहेज के लिए बलि, कार्यस्थल में उत्पीड़न जैसी समस्याएँ आम हो गयी हैं| स्थिति और अधिक दयनीय इसलिए हो जाती है क्योंकि इस प्रकार की अमानवीय यातनाओं को सहन करने के बाद भी एक महिला को ही दीन दृष्टि से देखा जाता है| नारी होना ही नारी के लिए अभिशाप हो गया है| हम एक पुरूष प्रधान समाज में रहते हैं इसमें क
