A Date To Remember(Part 2)

                                Adaa

It was an usual morning. Adaa was working in her cubicle when Mauli entered to meet her.

"Hey Adaa.. wassup?" She said in her ever chirpy voice.

"Hey.. nothing special just started working. " Adaa replied.

"So any special plans for today?" Mauli asked.

"Nothing as such...why?" Adaa was confused by her sudden question.

“Good. Then you’re going to meet Ansh today.” Mauli said in a stern voice.

“I can’t go dear. I’m busy today.” Adaa replied while working on her computer.

“Busy with….?” Mauli questioned in a serious tone.

Mauli was Adaa’s best friend and colleague. She was the only one with whom Adaa can talk about anything and everything. She was always there to give her shoulder to cry on when Gumaan and Adaa moved apart. Mauli wanted Adaa to move on from her past that is why she wanted Ansh and Adaa to meet.

“umm…” Adaa was thinking for a better reply to escape the stupid plans of Mauli when Mauli spoke again, “Adaa for God sake move on.”

“I’ve moved on dear.” Adaa replied still working.

“Yes..if coming to office, working all day like maniac, going back to home and having no social life is known as moving on then you’ve surely moved on.” Mauli replied sarcastically.

“so what do you want me to do? Hanging out, late night parties, boozing, one night stands, flings and forget everything else?” Adaa was panicked by now. She stopped working and gave Mauli a get-lost-from-here look.

“Yes do it. I don’t mind. But some other day. Today I want you to meet Ansh.” Mauli replied.

“I cannot… It’s not possible.” Adaa objected.

“Why? Tell me the reason. What’s wrong in him? He is a nice guy and above all he loves you madly. You two look great together. What else you need?”

Ansh was Adaa’s colleague and one of her best friend who supported her in all her good and bad times. He confessed his love for her which she politely denied but the thing that matters is that it didn’t affect their friendship.

“No reason…It’s just that I’m not ready for any relationship as yet.” Adaa said. This odd time questioning was disturbing  her.

“As yet? It’s been a long time Adaa..” Mauli was fed up of her stubborn replies.

“Three years have completed today.” Adaa said feebly.

“Damn! You call it moving on when you’re still counting every single day?” Mauli said in an angry tone.

“I’m not counting days. It’s just the date which reminded me of him.” Adaa tried to defend herself pointing her finger towards the table calendar placed beside the computer in her cubicle.

Mauli looked at the calendar silently and Adaa sank herself in a file pretending she has a lot work to do.

“Meet Ansh once.” Mauli’s voice echoed in Adaa’s ears.

“You are still there?” Adaa looked up feigning a smile finding all this so awkward.

“No..You’re still there.” Mauli replied politely and made Adaa realize how true she was.

It’s been three years when Gumaan and Adaa parted their ways with mutual consent but there wasn’t even a single moment when she didn’t miss him deeply. She did every effort to move on but it wasn’t possible for her. His memories were enough to drag her back to the past, to the times when they were happily together. She missed his presence in her life. She was lost.

“Adaa, past is definitely a good place to visit but not a good place to stay. Move ahead. Happiness is waiting for you.’ Mauli spoke when she found Adaa lost in thoughts.

“I don’t know what to do…” Adaa whispered softly. Tiny pearls appeared in her eyes.

“Meet Ansh. It’s a shot worth taking. What else you have to lose now?” Mauli said. She was really concerned about her best friend.

“No Mauli…I cannot.” Answered Adaa. She knew no one could ever take Gumaan’s place in her heart.

“You can and you will. I have booked a table for both of you at The Ambience Lounge. Sharp 8 P.M. Don’t be late.” Mauli told her about the plan.

“You should have asked me before doing this…” Adaa protested but it was too late to change anything.

Mauli had already left her cubicle. Adaa was alone and missing Gumaan. "Where would he be?" "Did he move on?" "Did he forget me?" Innumerable questions crossed her mind with no answer.

Forever in love♥

After two weeks of cold war. Vidaan decided to break the ice. He dialed a well known number on his iPhone. A beautiful face flashed on his mobile screen.  The face he loved more than his life. His reason to live. He waited for the call to be received. "Hello." "Hey love. " "Why did you call me?" "I want to meet you. We need to talk." "No. There is nothing left to talk. " "Naina for the sake of our love please don't say no." After a pause "Okay " "I'll wait for you at the same place." "I'll be there by 7 p.m." "Thank you." Call was disconnected without any further reply. Vidaan glanced at watch. It struck 2:00 pm. "Still 5 hours in hand" he said to himself.  He called his secretary and instructed her to cancel all his meetings for the day. He immediately left office in his favorite SUV. He put on the music and it played "Dil ibadat kar

A Star Studded Night

Sitting under the star studded sky with you This feeling is so very special and new If I were a poet I would've described How it feels when you sit by my side ... Looking into my eyes when you say my name Hold my hand in yours, our eyes play game As your lips trace the path to my lips I can't control, the beat of my heart skips ... When your fingers wander aimlessly on my skin I give in to my senses, I don't care if it is a sin As the night advances to its glory The love marks on my skin tell a new story... The story tells about  the conquest of love and lust How the darkness take over and emotions burst How the two souls mingle into one How both struggle to win and loses none... The end of battle is so enthralling and lovely Its painful and pleasurable simultaneously I wish the night to last forever The moments are precious like a treasure... #KANYA

You Are Not Alone...

You’re Not Alone "The Castle"  written in big italic golden letters on the black graphite nameplate. How beautiful it looks. After so many prolonged discussions we’d decided this name for our newly built bungalow, two years back, before getting married. The memories of the day are still fresh when I came here after marriage. It was lavishly adorned with colorful flowers, illuminated with countless lights. Two years have bygone. It still looks marvelous. I close my eyes. Some images appear.  I’m wearing a red saree with matching golden blouse. My wrists are filled with red bangles. Intricate heena design is applied on my palms till my forearm. There are silver anklets in my legs. The tinkling sounds of bangles and my laughter are adding melody in the air. I’m running down the white marble stairs. He is running after me to catch me. He is just a few steps away. I turn back and tease him by waving his childhood pic, in which he is wearing a pink frock and hat. He
